The first condominium high-rise in San Francisco, the modern building in which this apartment resides was erected in 1961 and referred to by locals as "Green Hill Tower". This light-washed unit takes up half a floor, and had not been touched since it was built.

The total makeover required clever solutions to problems such as existing columns and original plumbing. The new open floor plan includes three bedrooms with baths, large closets, a laundry room, dramatic powder room, and breathtaking bridge-to-bridge views.

The gracious entry is lined in English sycamore paneling with floors of oiled European oak. The new design opened the kitchen up to the view, and also created a seamless transition into the living area.

With so much going on outside every window, the interior palette was designed to be both serene and sophisticated, a calm backdrop to one of the world's legendary views.
